Date: Saturday, 07 September 2019
Venue: The Apollo Hotel. 243-247 Hagley Road Edgbaston Birmingham B16 9RA.
NIRAD is happy to present yet another study-day titled "Race, Diversity & Cultural Identity: Building the Profile of a BME Healthcare Professional". This represents the theme of our 5th Annual Scientific Conference and Exhibition coming up in the beautiful city of Birmingham City in United Kingdom on the 7th of September 2019.
The aim of this conference is to bring together all Nigerian Radiographers and other BME healthcare professionals from the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and Nigeria. We are also expecting healthcare professionals from other BME backgrounds to attend the event.
This event is intended to explore the strategies for supporting healthcare professionals and managing cultural diversity in the health workforce (Hunt,2007), the place of race and racism in cultural competence and identifying cultural identities and cultural congruency, and addressing the barriers to BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) employee career progression to the top.
The overall aim is to further create a good working environment amongst Radiographers and other healthcare professionals in a multicultural Britain where we can excel to the top. No doubt, this is going to be another exciting conference and we can't wait to welcome you to this event. NIRAD conference is growing rapidly in terms of the number of participants and the quality of the submissions.
We are expecting around 100 participants including health professionals, friends and other allied professionals representing the medical imaging industry to participate and make this 5th conference one of the best attended in our history. The number of paper contributions to the NIRAD conference remains at a very high level, this year again with abstracts already being submitted and having a very good chance of being accepted for presentation and publication.
It is our great delight and a real bliss to welcome you all to this meeting and we wish you all a delightful, informative, and educational stay in Birmingham.
